The Portrait Experience
What to Expect
Working with Marla is a guided, personal, full-service, and beautifully intentional experience from beginning to end.
You will be Marla’s only client on the evening of your portrait session, so you’ll have her full attention and dedication. Every step is thoughtfully structured so you can relax and truly enjoy the experience while Marla creates magical artwork that you will cherish for generations.
The Conversation
Marla will start by giving you a quick call to get to know you and what you’re envisioning. This is where your personal detailed experience really begins.
Your Portrait Session
Your session is fully guided. From assistance with wardrobe selection to choosing the perfect location, Marla will create an experience that is easy, relaxed, and beautifully cared for.
The Studio Reveal
Marla will invite you into the studio for a slideshow on the big movie screen, where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy seeing your images for the first time-yes, chocolate included.

From there, Marla will help you choose your favorite images and decide how you would like to enjoy, share, and preserve the ones you love most.
The in-studio reveal experience
This is the moment that makes the experience feel completely different from a typical portrait session.
Instead of viewing your images casually on a small screen at home, you’ll come into the studio and experience them for the first time in a beautifully curated slideshow.
You’ll view your portraits sequentially, just as they were meant to be seen. At this stage, your images are presented for you to enjoy and choose from, and your favorites will naturally begin to stand out.

From there, Marla will guide you through selecting the images you love most and deciding how you’d like to enjoy them, share them, or preserve them as artwork.
