Everything You Need to Know About Your Upcoming Portrait Session

To better prepare you and your family, Marla compiled the following information to make this creative process as easy as possible for everyone involved.

Location:

Our location will be determined the evening before our scheduled session based on the weather and lighting conditions in the forecast. I will be in touch the night before to secure the location details with you.

Tips for Parents:

Please allow me to direct your children as much as possible. I will be attempting to capture their eye contact (which will be more difficult if I am competing with a parent).

Pick a “family” of colors – in this case navy, lighter blue, and cream – choose clothing that will fit in this color scheme. Mix and match patterns and solids.

By choosing simple, classic clothing you will help give your images a timeless feel.

Add textures like vests, scarves or belts to add a little more to the image.

Since you will be displaying these portraits in your home you will want to make sure the colors of your clothing will coordinate with the color scheme of your home. Neutrals are a great way to play it safe.
